ShelfDon’t know if this causes trouble for your calculations or if the calculation gets too inexact: Due to the pixel-based origin of the coastal waters data set, there are “empty cells” close to the coastline… Just so you are aware of it…

not that simple, the question about coastal water/zones… Most definitions define it to be somewhere between 100-200m, see here.

Histogram
Here is a histogram showing the distribution of the bathymetry; indeed, I would say there is a rather sharp break at -200m…

So, do we go for an “average” of -150m (Wikipedia) or of the “extreme” of -200m ?

GRIDs

GRIDsHere a the GRIDs… 2.5×2 Degrees as polygon shapefile or as raster.

Attention: ArcGIS is able to read and display raster datasets with non-square cells. This includes the ESRI GRID format as well. However, in most cases ArcGIS prevents ESRI GRIDs from having non-square cells by default. For example, the Spatial Analyst extension is based on square cell analysis. This means all output data created from Spatial Analyst will have cells that are resampled to square cells.
